Here is the problem I am having... I have the following C function:

The TCurve struct is in C:

Now here's the problem, when I debug my code and step into the C dll, the result parameter contains the correct values before the end of the GtoCapFloorVCCustom function (this ensures that the parameters are well passed).

But in C#, I have result with all the values set to 0.0. Did I forget some marshalling somewhere? Regards.

Now I have an access a System.AccessViolationException. I also tried result->fArray = tempResult->fArray but then it points to the initial array and the free deletes it (normal). So then how can I copy of the elements in fArray since the above gives me an exception...

FINAL SOLUTION: So I have sorted my problem. I have a struct declared as follows:

[StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)]
    public struct TRatePt
    {
        public int fDate;
        public double fRate;
    };

TCurve.fArray actually points to an array of TRatePt ie: TRatePt[]. I created a method in TCurve that builds the TRatePt array from the pointer:

public TRatePt[] GetRatePoints()
        {
            IntPtr _localFArray = fArray;
            TRatePt[] _ratePts = new TRatePt[fNumItems];
            for (int _i = 0; _i < _ratePts.Length; _i++)
            {
                _ratePts[_i] = (TRatePt)Marshal.PtrToStructure(_localFArray, typeof(TRatePt));
                _localFArray = new IntPtr(_localFArray.ToInt64() + Marshal.SizeOf(typeof(TRatePt)));
            }

            return _ratePts;
        }

Where did all the comments go? Ok I just found out that TCurve didn't have the same size due to the fact that I had used long in C# for long int in C instead of int. That being sorted, I have IntPtr returned and it looks like it contains data. So now I need to marshal it back to my struct to get the data –  nche Sep 12 '11 at 11:32
    
Ok so I'm trying to Marshal the fArray back. It is a actually a pointer to a TRate. ie: TRate*... and TRate point is defined as follows is a struct with 2 fields, an int fDate and double fRate... How can I do this? –  nche Sep 12 '11 at 11:39
    
You could just create a C# struct for that. The array/pointer might be more of an issue, but there are several ways to handle this. Google a bit and see what you come up with. –  leppie Sep 12 '11 at 11:40
