I have asynctask which downloads an mp3 and I have a custom expanded notification in the status bar with a progress bar and a textview. The problem is I cannot get them to update. Here is my attempt, what am I doing wrong?

You always publish 0 since you use Integer for progress and downloadedSize

Change it to Double and try publishProgress((double)(downloadedSize/totalSize))

why does that publish 0? I have to use integer because to set the progress bar it requires an int –  Nick Nelson Sep 13 '11 at 23:39

Put a breakpoint in onProgressUpdate() and see if you get 0 still. You can use double as it's a ratio that you can convert to integer. Multiply by 100 for example when you update progress bar. –  Alex Gitelman Sep 14 '11 at 0:08
