I've written a java program using JNA (jna3.3.0) to retrieve my laptop's (OS: windows 7) speaker's volume.

I'm getting invalid parameter error (MMSYSERR_INVALPARAM=11) while invoking winapi mixerGetControlDetailsA defined in winmm.dll. [Ref: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa909813.aspx]

I believe somehow I'm not able to handle the LPVOID type field 'paDetails' under the structure 'MIXERCONTROLDETAILS' [Ref: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa910372.aspx]

Any help will be very much appreciated.

I have tested your code under Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit and it works. But, when I changed it a little bit as so to give preference for the wide-character version "W" instead of the ANSI character version "A" of some functions, I face the same problem as yours... –  ee. Dec 2 '11 at 3:32
    
Do you really intend that vDriverVersion in "Target" to be a 64-bit quantity? –  technomage Dec 21 '11 at 3:18
    
As for "W" versus "A" operation, your structs need to use char[] instead of byte[] when used in UNICODE mode for TCHAR[] fields. –  technomage Dec 21 '11 at 3:24
