I have a project due and I cannot find my error. Please take pity on a finals week idiot. :) Android/Eclipse project has errors. I think it's a missed } but I can't seem to find it. Entire project is here: http://www.andrewadcock.com/flag.zip Though I think it's just an error in the code below. Thank you very much for any help, I've spent about 4 hours looking for the issue(s).

What is the error? And which is line 306? I don't really want to try to count lines to find it. –  Cameron Skinner Dec 10 '11 at 7:45

If you get Eclipse to reformat all your code, I think you'll find the problem. I suspect it's at around line 210-229:

Note how the indentation is wrong after the first short for loop (which just declares a variable, and then does nothing with it.

My guess is that you didn't mean the closing brace on that fourth line. But it's really important to try to be able to work out things like this on your own. I suggest that:

  • You always use braces for if/for/etc statements, even when the body is just a single line
  • You ask Eclipse to format your code for you, particularly when you've run into problems like this
  • You try to keep your methods shorter; this makes it easier to find problems

Thanks for the quick response. Though, the code in the post doesn't have the close bracket on the fourth line and when I add it that destroys the loop. I did take your advice about using Eclipse to format the code, which was awesome! –  user1090957 Dec 11 '11 at 9:11

Oh. I am so incredibly sorry. Thank you. You are right the code in the zip is my latest version. I apologize with all my heart. I really do appreciate you looking at this. That was really dumb of me.
