Can somebody please help me out here? I am at a loss...

I am creating charts (.Net 4 Chart Control) on my web page dynamically in code. In my code I create a Legend object, pass it as a parameter to a function called FormatLegend that formats it and then I add it to a Chart object. The Charts are being generated and a legend is showing up, however none of the formatting is. The legend that is rendered just shows a color and the series name, but none of the HeaderText, HeaderBackgroundColor or any of the extra columns that I create (Min,Max,Avg). The things that I have tried are adding in the legend at various different times (e.g. before/after adding the chart area/series etc) as well as different page events (Init/Load/PreRender), but nothing is working. Another problem I am having is with the Y2 axis when I set the chartArea.AxisY2.MajorGrid.LineDashStyle = ChartDashStyle.Dash; it still always displays as solid. This one has me stumped. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated...

A lot of the styling for the chart I have put in a Skin file: (Edit: I tried pasting in the markup from the skin file, but it won't show up. Also, I just tried commenting out all of the code that creates and adds the legend to the chart, but the/a legend still shows up, without the formatting I coded, of course... Scratching my head)

UPDATE:

I finally figured out how to get the dynamic formatting for the Legend to display. I needed to register an event handler for the Chart.CustomizeLegend event and call my FormatLegend function in the event handler. There is another issue now. For some reason that event ALWAYS fires twice for each chart... This will cause a crash because the same existing columns are attempting to get added to the Legend again. I put in a check to not add anything if Legend.CellColumns.Count > 0, but this seems like a hack to me...
