I need a serial port driver for an embedded device (LPC 1769) running FreeRtos.
It needs to handle:
- 1 start bit
- 8 data bits
- 1 "mode" bit
- 1 stop bit
11 bits total.
I don't know much (if anything) about device drivers, but I reckon I could hack an existing driver and change the handling of the Parity bit to be the "mode" bit.
The problem is that when Parity bit is used, the majority of serial port device drivers only handle 7 data bits. If you ant the 8th then there is no parity bit.
That is to say that normally there are 10 bits per "byte"/"character"/"datum" and I need some code that deals with 11, so that 90% of the code (the bit which I don't really understand) is done and I can just tweak the code wrt the "mode" bit.
Does anyone know of some FOSS, coded in C, which will do this? Thanks
