Some context:

I am doing a POC with spring batch to replace out data extracts and reporting framework. We read data from an Oracle db and generate CSV reports from there. Now I have this working and unit tests connecting to an oracle db. However I would prefer to remove the external dependency of Oracle db to test with.

Problem:

When it comes time to adding data to the db dbunit is complaining that the table 'Account' does not exist.

I have a SQL script to create the db schema and flat xml data for dbunit to populate. From the logging I can see the following happening:

The drop/create code is using the same datasource as the db unit portion, so I don't think its creating a new in mem h2 instance.

Any thoughts?

What is the value of #{jdbcProps['brandgroup.jdbc.url']}? Usually the problem is the database URL being relative to the current working directory (instead of absolute) or using an in-memory database which loses data if the process exits. –  Thomas Mueller Jan 5 '12 at 10:46

jdbc:h2:mem/BRANDGROUPTEST means a persistent database, stored in the directory <currentWorkingDir>/mem. Did you want to use jdbc:h2:mem:BRANDGROUPTEST for a named in-memory database? –  Thomas Mueller Jan 5 '12 at 11:32
    
aahh thanks for that Thomas, but I am not sure if that will resolve the issue WRT to tables not being there when dbunit starts inserting. –  Bobby Quninne Jan 5 '12 at 11:51

I came across this one as well. When dbunit tries to delete the table it doesn't find it and hence the issue. I fixed it by adding "IF EXISTS" to my delete DDL.

Thanks for the response, I did add that prior to your post, but not quiet relevant. I decided to have 1 setup data script(instead of each unit test has an xml with its data) Seems to have removed the issues I have been having. –  Bobby Quninne Jan 12 '12 at 9:25
