my mpi program is supposed to have rank 0 wait around for a message from other ranks which let it know that they are ready to recieve data. at this point, my rank 0 will send it data. unfortunately, it only catches 'ready' signals from rank 1 and i have no idea why!

here is the code:

now, if i change line 101 to "else if(nrank == 2)" and i change line 94 to "2" instead of "MPI_ANY_SOURCE", then i don't get any signal catches at all:

so know that rank(0) is simply not receiving any signals from anyone other than rank(1). can anyone see any reason why ranks other than rank 1 would not get through to rank 0?

i'm an idiot ... tag was initialized to 1, thus i was only receiving signals from ranks giving similar tags (rank 1).
