What would be the easiest way to add a marker for the address entered from the code written bellow. The code reads an address and returns the three closest stores within the database onto a map. However it doesn't show the address the user entered and I would like it to in a different color.

in phpsqlsearch_genxml.php file create marker for location ie

$node = $dom->createElement("marker");
$newnode = $parnode->appendChild($node);
$newnode->setAttribute("name", "Location");
$newnode->setAttribute("address", "Location");
$newnode->setAttribute("lat", $center_lat);
$newnode->setAttribute("lng", $center_lng);
$newnode->setAttribute("distance", 0);

Then iterate through the rows, adding XML nodes for each

in your function createMarker someting like

if(address=="Location"){
  var marker = ??,
  }
  else{
  var marker = !!?,
  }

Where ?? and !! are your chosen markers

Use Google's geocoding service to convert an address string into a (Latitude, Longitude) coordinate. Add the coordinate onto your map as a marker. Use a custom marker image if you want a different color/style marker. I have done this before and all the information you need should be in the Google Maps Api reference and the official tutorials.
