I am trying to setup and use JRI on 64 bit machine. I have installed R 2.14.1 and rJava 0.9-3 with 64-bit JVM. I have managed to install rJava package in R using command

install.packages("rJava")

But still when trying to access it through code, I am getting following error,

Cannot find JRI native library!
Please make sure that the JRI native library is in a directory listed in java.library.path.

I think you did not start your application with a 64bit JVM:

Can't load AMD 64-bit .dll on a IA 32-bit platform

Or your System is not 64bit at all.

I think does as I get this response on command prompt: c:\>java -version java version "1.6.0_24" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_24-b07) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.1-b02, mixed mode) –  sachinsd Feb 21 '12 at 17:47

I started it using \R-2.14.1\bin\x64\Rgui.exe" but cant see anyway to check which JVM it will refer to.. I assume its connecting to the java vm i can see on >java -version . –  sachinsd Feb 23 '12 at 12:04
    
Try the ProcessExplorerXP (A Microsoft tool) you can see which dll are loaded. –  Christian Kuetbach Feb 23 '12 at 13:27
