I've spent about 8 hours researching and I cannot find a solution so I'm creating my first post here!

I'm getting the following error when hitting the getVote function as the object doesn't return anything.

Doing this: Query query=currentSession().createQuery("from com.gasx.model.Vote where id=?"); Returns an object but it doesn't appear to function correctly (my logging stops). Config looks like this. First time using annotations.

I think it is easier to use HibernateTemplate instead of using SessionFactory in your DAO –  Amir Pashazadeh Mar 8 '12 at 8:42
    
Hibernate templates aren't necessary any more. I did try using hibernateTemplates though. –  JasonG Mar 12 '12 at 19:26

The project was okay... The issue was I forgot that in oracle you have to commit. I was inserting my seed data but the app couldn't see it as it was never committed. Cannot believe I did that... It has been a couple years since I worked with oracle.

The String XML config file overrides the Spring annotation config, so you have to edit your Spring XML file with the following :

Thanks for your reply. Still no luck. I've tried hibernate templates, xml config. I get 0 objects back even when hibernate generates SQL that will actually run in the db. –  JasonG Mar 12 '12 at 14:30

I rewrote the entire application, tried everything possible, and finally I think the issue all this time, was that I did not run 'commit' after inserting my seed data... –  JasonG Mar 12 '12 at 19:24
