When I do a

telnet localhost 1024

my daemon spawns the /bin/sh and all sent commands are saved to the file log. But, when I write (in example): id; I have no answer from my daemon into the client' side neither into the log file.

What am I missing?

P.D: the code needs some when client disconnected closing functions, which I will add when the pour pose is found.

execve() does not return, unless an error occurs. therefore, none of the lines below this call are ever reached.

Use system() in order to continue after the child exits:

   The value returned is -1 on  error  (e.g.   fork(2)  failed),  and  the
   return  status  of the command otherwise.  This latter return status is
   in the format specified in wait(2).  Thus, the exit code of the command
   will  be  WEXITSTATUS(status).   In case /bin/sh could not be executed,
   the exit status will be that of a command that does exit(127).

   If the value of command is NULL, system() returns nonzero if the  shell
   is available, and zero if not.

   system() does not affect the wait status of any other children.

okay, thanks. I'm using system now and the child closes the file and returns the message. But the file is empty. I'm editing the code's adding the dup2 I've added for trying to log the buffer. Another thing I want to know if it is possible to undup2 the stdout (for example) once dup2ed because even closed the connection, the server is sending the message: "client disconnected" to the client' side. – user1189104 Mar 10 '12 at 18:21
