Can anyone alter this code to include one integer variable. Not including the database version integer of course. :)

raju, I deleted the code that caused the errors. I have been coding for 2 months. So that means, I am the problem. If you can add an integer to this database utility code, It would save me a lot of time. Or I will continue to hack away at it until I get it to work. –  lastshadowrider Mar 13 '12 at 6:01

You can put any type of value into any type of column in sqlite databse.. except that if you try to put anything other than an integer into an INTEGER PRIMARY KEY column you get an error.. so you should not have any problem inserting integers into database... while you are retrieving the values.. you can type cast them into required type.. as integers in this case...

OK I thought that an INTEGER PRIMARY KEY was only for COLUMN ID's. I shall look into creating another INTEGER PRIMARY KEY and type cast my new INTERGER VARIABLE into that column. Does this sound like a viable solution? –  lastshadowrider Mar 13 '12 at 12:05
    
create a new column as myid(for example) and add integers in that column.. sqlite database doesnt check the type while inserting... so when you are retrieving type cast the string into int.. thats all.. –  raju Mar 13 '12 at 12:14

There's no column named KEY_TEST in DATABASE_TABLE, so it's expected the trying to insert or update that column throws and exception.

Thats just it. I cant seem to put the correct commands in the entire code to make it work. I took them back out. You can see hash marks in front of the entries that werent enclosed int () or {} –  lastshadowrider Mar 13 '12 at 4:43

There are a ton of examples out there, but none of them use integers. They all use strings –  lastshadowrider Mar 13 '12 at 4:48
