The API Reference is POORLY documented in threejs.org and my issues made me resort to asking the question here. Well, I am simply trying to attach a simple image on a PlaneGeometry Mesh but it doesn't seem to work.

This is my full javascript file with a canvas of 580x300

I only see a black square whenever I run it. any ideas? Thanks!

You have to make sure that the image is loaded. One way is to wrap render function.

  var textureImg = new Image();
  textureImg.onload = function(){
    renderer.render(scene,camera);
  };
  textureImg.src = "img/front.jpg";

EDIT: After downloading latest tag from github and playing with examples it became clear that the CORS is the one to blame. If I open the Chrome Developper Tools and look at the console there are many error messages:

Cross-origin image load denied by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing policy.

If you are using Chrome, start it with flag -allow-file-access-from-files

EDIT 2: And it works. Tested with Chrome 17.0.963.79.

Image still not loaded, indeed. But adding that piece of code you are going to ask for the same image two times to the server. –  Juan Mellado Mar 15 '12 at 17:48

Change the rotation of the Plane.

try this.

Plane.rotation.x = (-Math.PI / 2);
Plane.rotation.z = (-Math.PI / 2);
