I had the same issue. Solved it by installing a 32 bit java, then re-installing the WTK, During installation it asks you witch JDK to use, then just point to the 32 bit java.

Obviously your code isn't actually that - so my guess is that your catch (or finally) block is either doing something before it logs anything, or it uses a different logger than the try block. swish is right. Cleaning up the direcotry should help. The workdir is created as a copy of the currently in use work dir so dropping the files there should also help.

Yes, I sometimes receive this error if my midlet uses too much CPU - lots of repaints and processing. Also, try giving more memory to JVM with -Xmx512m, or -Xmx1024m params (I don't sure if it could help)

You can use the Java ME SDK which is based on Netbeans. And as this SDK is based on Netbeans I'm pretty sure that you can find a way to have directly those features in Netbeans.
