Thanks for your help. You are probably not far off from the answer; I edited the question to show how I need the zeroth values as in arr[0], not just arr[0][0].

I made the example more clear, showing how I needed to use the whole row arr[0] , not just the first vector arr[0][0]. Then gave what the results should be.

What would you do about the libraries (numpy, scipy, matplotlib) ? For instance, how would clients be able to use the ginput() function in matplotlib from the executable, without having it installed on their computer.

Sorry I'm not seeing how that example applies. Say I have my hundreds of eigenvalues for the covariance matrix for my image..what ratio am I looking for as a measure of circularity?

circularity = 4pi(area/perimeter^2) ... Well all I would need is an algorithm for perimeter.

Thanks Joe that works. Yeah I meant largest area. I don't see a scipy measurement for circularity of an object. Do you know of any ways to get roundness (0 = line, 1 = perfect circle)?

I know this is wrong data[np.where(max(np.sum(obj_slice))] .. But is there a way I can print just the largest object?

Error when subsetting based on adjusted values of different data frame in R
Thanks for the help, but my real data has hundreds of rows, and I don't feel like indexing them onebyone. Yes my data is poorly organized. I wish I knew how to make hour and cond into factors. Something like reshape's melt command probably would help.
