OK, I was pretty sure I had tried that to get rid of the loop, but I probably got the sqrt bit missing. I'm getting a 16.5x increase in speed. |

Interpolating and estimating uncertainty
Well, in fact, I'd rather have a Kalman smoother than a filter, but I was asking whether scipy's Spline interpolation routines did take uncertainty into account (I guess you can calculate it, but might not be trivial!) |

Yes, I'm aware of that, but I was hoping the scipy spline routines could provide uncertainty "out of the box". |

@ali_m Quite true, it turns out that my problem is actually quite simple to solve using broadcasting, as some of the matrices effectively evaluate to scalars (1x1 matrices), simplifying things quite substantially! |

@larsmans Due to the nature of the problem, I can't see how vectorised operations can be made to fit this problem (you need to build matrices etc.) |
