Indeed I should think of using wavetables and lookup tables with interpolation more often. the interpolation will make it about the same as the above function perhaps.

the above function uses about 12 cycles so it's pretty nice to have compared to sine.

100 clock cycles is giant compared to a parabola function. For example if you write a gong sound, it's 100 detuned sines, and if i can save 1/2 the processing power it's ideal.

sin uses alot of processing power because in maths sin is a very long function. i have found a better option, will edit it in the question. in audio programs for example when we use many sins the processing power adds up, and same on mobile platforms just for varying positions of things.

i just looked on youtube, in strongly lit zones the phosphorous took at least 250ms to fade, and that is just visible in the video. I mean that, having worked with many pc Oscilloscopes, I find they look very bad with a refresh rate as fast as the screen, therefore the dots need a fade time to look like nice graphics, the benz of osc emulations uses a fade time. I'm abit spoilt because i used Reaktor programs xy scope for a while and it has adjusteable fade time and dots, so it only needs to draw 100-1000 samples per frame and using graphics card echo, you can adjust fade time.

The scan dots take n seconds to fade, i.e. they fade slowly it isnt refreshed every frame, so, ideally you have to use a graphics card that can read back from it's own buffer and fade out points over time, to simulate the phosphorus light fading in the oscilloscope.

I think that he means any temporary variables, i.e.: is using a = b + c; d = a + e; slower than using a = b + c + d + e; it may potentially use more memory if done in ways the compiler can't optimise, but it shouldnt be slower. best focus or work productivity unless it's a commercial and critical performance code.

Thankyou, i liked this post. i wrote it again with a minor change, i replaced the integer inputs and outputs with floats as function variables, seeing as they are used as floats in the loops. i then tried cutoff values from 0 to 1 but didnt hear any filter effects, i just heard some addition of high end if i set the cutoff at -5 and 90 in my test. still, it has made me realise i will be able to have a filter for my program, i am overjoyed.

No indeed, it is only a code to convert HSV to RGB when the question was please help me with a function to convert HSV to RGB in unity, you are so helpful david. Unity has everything to do with Javascript, as they use ActionScript which is a scion of javascript, and all their reference is in .JS as it's the same as JS omitting web handles, if you have issues with unity terminology, take it up with unity, dont tell my my answer is in the wrong language because it's the same language as the question, and the same language unity uses.

Neither method isfaster than a custom int parse code, because in parse has to deal with spaces, - hyphones, new lines, etc.
