I was trying with the first technique. Anyways your answer gives a good insight. By the way few days back on a question on Quadmesh you wanted to know how I use GMSH for quad meshing. I updated this question with picture of the foil with such mesh.

@ruebenko I did exactly such a function implementation to create the second picture. But I am still way behind from creating a real geometry like the first pic that can be manipulated with certain set of parameters.The second geometry is natively created in MMA where as the first pic comes from a stl CAD import.

I don't know why the IMTEK was not updated with Mathematica. It is a gem of a tool. I also like IMS more than the current TetGEnLink. Mesh manipulation is easier in IMTEK.

@belisarius Yes this is one of the crudest way to go. As ruebenko pointed out qmorph is a well know algorithm that requires quite lot of work in MMA. I want something simple likewise you said. I will update the question once I have a better example with the cow and how to use GMSH to generate quadmesh. I need little more time as I currently busy with something else. I hope you find the problem interesting.

@SjoerdC.deVries I did not try so far. Just now read the news in BBC and thought it will be a good problem for a MMA practice lesson. I will try to do it but wanted others to have a look too. Specially those gtting bored on a foggy Saturday morning.

@ Heike I need the indices to refer to the one in full list. Else it will not work as bodypols has only polygons except the wakes but polygons has those wakes also as separate polygons.

@ Heike neighbours[plygons] is giving all the polygon relations including the wakes too. How can we exclude the wakes as we can separately get wakes by wake[polygons]? Is it possible to get only the triangles and quadrilaterals as a list? I am not able to separate the wakes from neighbours[plygons].

I need the quadrilateral. I need them to use an external program. Simple triangular mesh is not necessary. These quadrilateral are absolute necessary.
