I worked as part of a newly formed agile team on a variety of greenfield systems. My main contribution was to lead development of front-end libraries and components, and support their application across a number of internal and external facing products, which were essential to the organisation’s strategy for fulfilling it’s obligations under the 2012 Land Registration Act (Scotland). This involved applying cutting edge web technologies (chiefly CoffeeScript, AngularJS, Jasmine & SASS), elements of UX design, API design, and data schema design. As the lead in this area I was responsible for elements of application architecture, system documentation, and mentoring other team members. I also made significant contributions to the development of various web server-side and database applications chiefly using Python, Flask, Celery, and MongoDB, as well as integration with legacy systems.

A one year independent research project for which I developed an implemented a highly innovative digital learning platform for neuroanatomy. The product was a web based (ruby on rails) application featuring a detailed and highly interactive 3D visualisation of a human brain which was derived as a surface based visualisation from an MR volumetric image via a novel technique. The application was deployed as part of an undergraduate course in neuropsychology, which provided test users whose usage was extensively logged and analysed in conjunction with solicited feedback in the form of surveys.
