SOFTWARE ENGINEER - SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEERING (ENTERPRISE INFORMATION SYSTEMS)
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is an engineering discipline that combines software and systems engineering to build rapidly-evolving and fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that SpaceX’s systems have reliability and uptime appropriate to our 24/7 rocket manufacturing needs.

- Author custom tools and applications to automate sustainable delivery of products written for:
- C# /.NET / Windows
- Python / Linux
- Perform operational duties such as executing deployment runbooks and reacting to monitoring alerts
- Closely collaborate with feature squads to create highly operable and maintainable products
- Closely collaborate with system administrators to build support for underlying infrastructure
- Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services -- from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement
- Provide end-user support to engineering for products
- Completed bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, applied mathematics, physics, or similar technical discipline
- 4+ years of experience in object-oriented software engineering with a focus on site reliability, deployment tools, DevOps, or custom software delivery life cycle enhancements
- Scripting experience using shell, bash, Python, and/or other languages
- Infrastructure-as-code experience with Puppet, Ansible, or other automation frameworks
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- C# or Python fluency
- Incident management
- Relational databases
- Server management in service-oriented-architecture
- Performance bottleneck analysis
- JIRA / issue workflow systems
