Job Description

Email on Acid is dedicated to building an industry leading SaaS application using the most up-to-date and current technologies available. We have a team of world-class engineers who are constantly pushing the envelope. The team is in the midst of a number of site-wide initiatives and we need your help to shape the future of our platform!

We are a looking for a talented software engineer to assist in developing and upgrading our web platform from a LAMP stack to a MEAN stack. In this role, expect to be involved in migrating current features to Node.js while also expanding our product. The right candidate understands modern software design and can break down complex tasks in clear and concise ways. They should have a strict attention to detail and be comfortable learning and applying the newest development methodologies. Candidates should be able to quickly jump into our tech stack (Node.js / NoSQL / Redis / PHP / MySQL) and make a difference. We work with many different programming languages and thrive on the cutting edge of technology. There are no manuals or blogs written to build our product and the right engineer will help define the path of innovation.

Skills & Requirements

Required Skills:

2+ years of experience developing data-driven web applications
Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases
Experience with application frameworks / libraries (Express / Angular / CodeIgniter etc.)
Experience in using event-driven design and JavaScript Promises
Experience with back-end performance optimization techniques and a general understanding of algorithms
A general understanding of how websites and browsers work under the hood (HTML semantics / DOM API / CSS fundamentals / HTTP(S))
Desire to continuously learn new languages, platforms and skills

Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy new features and enhancements on emailonacid.com
Migrate PHP/MySQL modules to Node.js/NoSQL
Work with image manipulation and processing technologies
Propose and advocate for clean, functional design systems
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
Produce responsive and cross-platform features
Build reusable components and scalable architecture
Introduce and understand development best practices, usability, and semantics
