Sr. Software Developer - JAVA

The Senior Software Developer will join a platform product development team that develops a highly configurable platform software solution in a collaborative environment employing Agile development methodologies. Datacert has built a solution that functions as an ERP for the world’s largest corporations.  The platform solution is built on a Java framework and it capable of being integrated with various applications. Most importantly though, the platform has a built in developer’s tool kit that will allow our clients to build custom applications to run on the platform. In addition, clients will be able to request Datacert to build custom applications on their behalf as well.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop modifications and enhancements to core Datacert software products in a team environment.
• Develop core application frameworks for all of Datacert’s product lines
• Participate in continual improvement efforts.
• Mentor more junior or 3rd party contract resources in development best practices

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field required

Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of experience with Object Oriented Development, preferably including Java in web application development.
• Mixed front-end and back-end skills.
• SQL Server experience or Oracle development experience.
• Web development experience, JavaScript and Java server-side technologies (J2SE/J2EE).
• Experience with Spring, Spring MVC, and Hibernate.
• Experience with Groovy, JRuby, Drools/Drools Flow, JBPM/JBOSS or JQuery is a plus.
• Experience developing commercial, enterprise software

• Strong code re-factoring skills Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Experience in Agile development practices preferred.
• Results-oriented self-starter in need of limited supervision
