Safety Engineer for Automotive Software (f/m)
BMW Car IT as a software company within BMW Group delivers qualitative solutions for the design and implementation of innovative software of future cars.In collaborative work with development departments at BMW Group, we design and develop software of control units deployed in future vehicles. As an experienced software developer (f/m), you actively contribute and shape the future autonomous vehicle. In an agile environment, you are responsoble for the definition and implementation of safety concepts by software and you make significant contributions tot he development of safety releavnt software assets. By defining the software architecture and the safety concept, the verification of safety properties and testing in a simulation environment or in the real car, you will encounter varied and challenging tasks to perform. Skills & requirements
- Degree in computer science or comparable study course.
- Advanced experience with software quality processes and standard (e.g. C++ Coding Standards) and object oriented C++ programming.
- Experience with the POSIX programming interface and Linux/UNIX system programming.
- Solid understanding of software design principles allowing to assess software architectures.
- Interest in requirements engineering and semi-formal architecture descriptions.
- Knowledge in one or more subsequent matters is beneficial: debugging/profiling of Linux applications by using standard Linux tools, build systems (CMake, Yocto), distributed version control systems (Git, SVN), experience with formal validation methods.
- Knowledge and experience with safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and their application on software level (e.g. SW HAZOP, MC/DC coverage or coding guidelines) are welcome.
- Fluent English and good knowledge of German.
