Job description
As a DBA, the candidate is responsible for updating the current Database Project for bug fixes, updates and new features. This includes creating Tables, Primary Keys, Constraints, Indexes, Foreign Key Relationships, Stored Procedures, etc. This may include data migration and manipulation for new requirements.
As a .Net developer, the candidate wil be partially responsible for updating and improving a windows service which imports data from Metrolist (http://www.metrolist.com) using the RETS "protocol" (http://www.rets.org). The candidate will also be partially responsible for updating and improving a Data-Tier .Net assembly that uses Entity Framework to retrieve data from the Database Project databases.
The candidate will be using the Latest Sql Server 2008 R2 technologies including Geography data type, Visual Studio 2010 SP1 with TFS 2010, Entity Framework (which we will be using CTP for testing purposes for Geography related functions).
Skills & requirements
Required:
- DBA Knowledge of Sql Server 2008 (Normalization, Performance, Security, etc)
- Visual Studio Database Projects using Source Control (TFS 2010)
Bonuses:
- Linq2SQL and/or Entity Framework Knowledge
- SQL 2008 Geography Data Types
- Loosely Couple Data Design and Inheritence Patterns (esp for SQL)
- C# .Net 4.0 Experience
- Troubleshooting skills involving security with IIS and SQL Server
