We are looking for a highly talented System Engineer to help bootstrap our multi-national contact center infrastructure and build a team to support, maintain and continuously improve it.
We heavily focus on automation so scripting or even programming skills are equally as important as a broad knowledge of open-source and commercial operating systems, software suites and the hardware they run on.
We require strong leadership skills and our System Engineering Lead is expected to build a team consisting of site buildout experts, network engineers, NOC personell and local IT support. Associated organizational skills will help when prioritizing projects and assigning work to the team.
The Systems Engineering Lead will be one of the first technology roles to be filled within Project Urbanite, report directly to the VP of Technology and offers tremendous growth potential, opportunities to work with multi-cultural teams and shape the technology basis of a multi-national organization.
The position will eventually be based in the Philippines, however extensive travel to New York and El Salvador will be necessary within the first 2-3 months. All travel expenses will be covered.
The salary for this position will be 70,000-80,000 USD.
Skills & requirements
Technologies
- Strong Linux skills, preferably on a RedHat variety (CentOS, Fedora, etc.)
- Experience in setting up and maintaining a coporate infrastructure (authentication, wiki, bug tracking, DNS, corporate webpage, VPN, etc.)
- Experience with telephony technologies (preferably Avaya)
- Networking experience (Juniper or Cisco)
- Network monitoring and system automation
- Experience with IT buildout of new offices/sites
- Basic programming skills preferred but not required
Soft-Skills
- Fluent English (written and spoken) and strong communication skills; Second or third languages are a big plus, especially Spanish
- Strong leadership personality
- Great organizational and project management skills
- Abbility to travel easily
- 5+ years experience in IT, both as system/network engineer as well as in leadership capacities
- Experience in the BPO space and/or international experience are a big plus
