We are looking for the future! Join us this summer as a Data Scientist Intern (Artificial Intelligence) to support our product development in an innovative and rapidly growing technology company.
Responsibilities/Learning opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Use large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and use models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
- Develop company A/B testing framework and test model quality.
- Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
- Drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
- Ability to drive results with data insights.
- Ability to learn IBM/Watson, Cognitive/Conversational platforms, and Hitachi Vantara Big Data products and Analytics.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as: clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc. and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
- Understanding of and experience working with advanced statistical techniques and concepts, i.e. regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with and/or interest in learning:
- Using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations.
- Using statistical computer languages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
- Working with and creating data architectures.
- Python (MUST have)
- Machine Learning Frameworks: Keras, Tensorflow, Torch, PyTorch, Theano, Scikit, H20, SparkML, NLTK, Core NLP.
- Artificial Intelligence: Deep Learning, Deep Networks, Natural Language Processing and Understanding (NLP/NLU).
- Advanced Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Python, Linear Regression, Neural Networks, Probabilistic inference, Goal Oriented AI.
- Graph Databases, Neo4J, NoSQL, Neptune, MongoDB, Hadoop, My SQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL.
