Summary of Position
You will be working with a small team to develop the proprietary 3D printing software tools and fiber alignment optimization algorithms used with Fortify’s fluxprint technology. We are developing many of these software tools from the ground up in order to have complete control over how they interact with our unique style of printing. You will find yourself approaching a number of widely varied design and programming challenges on a daily basis, as well as greatly contributing to the effort of taking these tools into production.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test back-end printing software functionality such as support structure generation, layer slicing, mesh manipulation, and printer communication
- Assist with continued development of microstructure optimization algorithms and simulation tools
- Contribute to all aspects of the software development life cycle
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of professional experience developing production software applications
- Strong understanding of mathematics, particularly of 3D linear algebra and computational geometry
- Are a diligent and collaborative engineer who takes initiative to achieve company goals
- Industry experience developing software for 3D printing, CAD/CAM/CAE, graphics, or other computational applications is highly preferred
