We are building iFarm, a system that utilizes computer vision, deep learning and biometrics to create health records for fish. Each fish is analyzed for possible disease symptoms and those who need treatment are sorted out. Our vision to move from group-based farming and operations to individualized care and treatment has been widely adopted in the salmon farming industry. The iFarm project has been awarded Development Licenses by the Directorate of Fisheries, with funding secured for 5 years. So far, we have done a lot of concept work and will now start developing the technology from scratch.

Our partner, Cermaq, will dedicate two fish farming sites for iFarm development.
In the role of Team Lead Software Engineering you will be encouraged to take full responsibility and drive the process forward in both Software and Hardware, and ensure that we work as a close team to find the best solutions together.
What you will be doing:
Lead competent engineers and contribute yourself to the development to the entire software platform from requirements engineering and architecture decisions, to implementation
Design and develop solutions for our sensors, illumination and robotic sorting system
Support or contribute to the embedded software and hardware
Design and development of the software platform that enables quick iterations for AI models, access to data as well as insight and holistic analysis of the system
Support in the development of machine learning models and tools for image and video analysis
Build the infrastructure to process large amounts of image data at fish farming pens to a cloud platform

Skills & Requirements
MSc and/or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Electronics or similar
3+ years’ experience within software engineering, using C/C++, Python, or similar technologies
Some leadership experience, but still being very much hands-on
Solid experience with modern application development and software development processes, Git, unit testing, code audits, continuous integration, software design patterns, etc.
Software architect/system engineering within the open-source ecosystem
GNU/Linux/ARM-based embedded hardware
“Nice to have” experience
Robot Operating System (ROS)/ROS-industrial
Experience with real-time systems
Know-how of cloud architecture (Microsoft Azure) and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
Understanding of different databases like PostgreSQL, Redis, Hadoop
NVIDIA Jetson´s Platform
FPGA (Xilinx Zinq Ultrascale)
Qt is a plus
