Job description
AIG Science is seeking a full time UI/UX Designer to lead the design effort in creating stunning experiences and interactions for our R&D web and mobile products. The designer will work closely with the business and technical team to develop the experience, interfaces and data visualizations for our apps.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design experiences (including workflows, wireframes and preliminary mockups) all Science technology products, including web, data visualization and mobile
- Participate in design critiques with other designers
- Work with product manager and data analytics teams to turn business requirements and raw data into stunning experiences
- Perform user research, rapid prototyping and interviews with users at field offices
Skills & requirements
- 3+ years of demonstrable experience as a UX designer in web, data visualization and mobile
- BA/BS in Industrial Design, degree programs with an emphasis in Human-Computer Interaction, related disciplines, or 6+ years of job experience.
- Masters in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Cognitive Science or Industrial Design preferred
- Fluency in latest interaction techniques, pros and cons of different UX methodologies and data visualization
- Portfolio site with example work and clear descriptions of contributions
- Portfolio examples demonstrating skills in designing data visualizations as part of an app, touch-based interactions and user workflows
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly present and explain ideas to business and technical teams
- Web/mobile development experience is a plus, but not required
