Front End Developer

Benchmark Internet Group (http://www.benchmarkemail.com), a leading email service provider headquartered in Los Alamitos, (and a very special place to work) has an opening for a mid-level front-end web developer. Someone who can provide the wow factor.

We are looking for an HTML/CSS/Javascript/JQuery developer (extensive experience) who will work with our creative and technical teams to develop and maintain dynamic pages for our website using various web technologies. You'll be working with our existing coding team in a mid-level to advanced position.

We are looking for someone who can communicate well, work independently, and instruct back end development team in finishing a task/project. The ideal candidate should have drive and motivation to understand our product and help improve it. Candidate should also have a passion for learning and following trends in web, mobile, and email. Finally, you should be honest, hard working and have a can-do attitude when faced with obstacles.

Job Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the technical and business teams to create the desired look and feel for the web and mobile apps using best practices in HTML/CSS/Javascript

• Support new projects as well as maintaining our current online services

• Build responsive HTML emails that work among various email clients and devices

• Manage tasks and projects assigned to you and must be thorough that work is cross browser compliant and looks fine in all the languages provided by our service.

Skills and Specifications
• 4-7 years of front-end development with a portfolio demonstrating your best work 
• Experience with hand-coding HTML/ CSS/Javascript. Must be able to code from scratch. 
• Deep understanding of various cross-browser compatibility issues
• Understanding of Information Architecture and UX design
• Extensive technical experience with web technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills overall
• Solid front-end web development experience
• Proficient with HTML and CSS. Must be knowledgeable of HTML5 and CSS3 and be able to apply them to your work.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Javascript and jQuery

• Strong knowledge in coding HTML emails and responsive emails

• Knowledge and experience in sending emails and their compatibility issues among different email clients (Outlook, Gmail, etc)

• Very strong attention to detail for making pixel perfect builds

• Experience building responsive web pages

• Experience and knowledge of Photoshop CS6/Photoshop CC

• Understanding of trends in web, mobile, and email technologies. Wordpress and SASS are plusses.

Education and Qualification
• 4-7 years of related experience in front-end web development and or web design. 
• Degree in Web Development or Design preferred
