Senior Android/J2ME Software Engineer

Software Imaging has over 20 years’ experience in the print and imaging software on the desktop. Recently Software Imaging has moved this expertise onto the mobile platform.

Software Imaging has an immediate opening for a software engineer with solid commercial experience developing applications on the Android platform. The position will have the benefit of working with a team of dynamic and experienced software professionals in a flexible environment.

Purpose of the Job
o To join the development team in developing leading edge mobile printing applications and frameworks.

Reporting Structure
o Reporting to Deputy Development Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities
o Responsibilities will include all aspects of development from design to coding and testing.
o Providing consultancy in the early stages of development (Internal)
o Work closely with architect and design teams on application developments
o Design, develop and deliver code and unit test scripts
o Participate in peer code reviews
o Analyse code defects and implement test fixes
o Contribute and lead software analysis, design and specification
o Share knowledge and train other software engineers
o Interface with customers as required

Decision Making
o As delegated by Line Manager

Occasional Tasks
o To perform such other tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Line Managers.

Skills and Experience Required
o A minimum of three years hands-on experience of Java and/or Android experience in a commercial environment
o Experience of AGILE
o Can demonstrate a passion for mobile technology especially Android

Other desirable qualifications include:
o Experience 
with
 printing
o Basic
 knowledge
 of
 several major
 mobile 
platforms (Symbian, MeeGo, Qt, Bada, iOS
etc.)
