Tech Stack
We have an extraordinary group of engineers that is building MongoDB and utilizing a varied tech stack.
Our Server team that is building our database down to the kernel layer including but not limited to storage, sharding, replication and query who are predominantly working with C++. In addition to our database, this team is building out a number of tools such as database drivers and connectors and other products such as our Atlas Data Lake and Compass products. These products are built with Go, Python, Typescript and Rust amongst many others.
Then there is the Atlas Cloud team that is building a platform that is truly multi-cloud. The team creates advanced ways to auto-heal and auto-scale, connect more securely, and build cross cloud clusters. Additionally, there are teams building tools focused on search, telemetry and observability, alerts, IAM, and billing/payments. They primarily use Java, Typescript, and React with an emphasis on backend.
Last but not least, Realm is our fast, scalable alternative to SQLite with mobile to cloud data sync that makes building real-time, reactive mobile apps easy. Realm core is built using C++ whereas SDKs are built in Swift, Java, Javascript, Dart, Kotlin and .NET.
