Designing LR(0) parsers is usually the simplest of all LR parsers. There are huge resources on the web considering this topic and the best known is the Dragon Book which I used on my Compiler Design course last semester:

Just read up about LR(0) parsing. There is even pseudocode. Good luck.

Ofcourse, there are automatic parser builders (GNU-Bison for example), but I consider them too much of a bother. I'd rather implement my own parser.

  • They are the same as every other production, almost. I can remember having no trouble with this book. I just followed it, implemented the pseudo code and had a working parser in no more than a couple of hours. The book learns you how to make a parser generator too, which is even better! – darxsys Apr 7 '13 at 14:48
