i have a list of proxies and i am trying to check which of them are active. What i was doing so far was to connect through curl to every single one of them and see if they responded, but i am looking for something faster and similar to what http://www.ip-adress.com/Proxy_Checker/ does. I am thinking of checking if the port is open or something like that. The code i am using currently is the following

The script retrieves 100 proxies from a database and then checks each by sending them to a destination and checking the response, i just need to see if they are active currently so the extra things will be removed. The results of the checks are written on a file as queries and then a second script runs them and changes the database.

  • you should check return value of curl_exec, if it false then you should retrive error number by curl_error($curl_handler). On this page php.net/manual/en/function.curl-error.php a lot of error codes, some of them means proxy errors.
