I would like to close an existing connection between to application running on my server. If you have a suggestion please reply on how to program this, you will be appreciated.

Note that: TCPView application can close the connection exactly as I need, but I would like to run it as a console application or other command line.

    There was an answer here until a few minutes ago (!) linking to wkillcx.sourceforge.net and killcx.sourceforge.net which sounds like a valid response to me... apparently some mod disagreed? Mar 25 '12 at 0:22
  • Anyone who has trouble with running this code on .net 4.8 refer to nitzel's comment about changing it to ushort as the return object. Spent way to long to find a solution to only find it as a hidden comment in the answer.

    @RemyLebeau TCPView close connection option is greyed out for udp6 and tcp6. That is my answer LOL :)

    htons' and ntohs' netshort parameter should be of type ushort instead of int (ref) - this took me quite a bit to figure out as it was running fine on .NET Core but failed on .NET Framework 472 on some machines.

    This worked for me, but I had to use a (long) instead of (int) cast for lines referencing buffSubPointer, to avoid arithmetic overflow. On .NET Core 3.1
