I am making a clock for the Ubuntu Touch platform and have been given designs that I need to implement. The required implementation is shown below in Figure 1. I did a basic implementation of it as shown in Figure 2. Currently they are two rectangles with a radius anchored to each other with a colored background. What Qt/QML effects do I need to use in order to achieve the depth and shadows? I can tweak the values myself if I know what effects are required.

Note 1: Ignore the clock markers and the color difference between the 2 images. That is something I know how to address.

Note 2: Please provide documentation links so that I can read the documentation to tweak as desired to match the required design

It is not reall 3D depth, only a slight highlight/shadow that can be achieved easily. Here is an example for a simple ring :

The trick is to draw black-transparent-white gradients and mask them to show only a thin line around circles.

Depth does not exist. You can use drop shadow from Graphical Effects: http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5.0/qtgraphicaleffects/graphicaleffects.html#drop-shadow
