I got an error in my Java program. I think this happens because of the constructor is not intialized properly.

  • You have a problem in one or more of your loops, which is trying to access the 1 element when there is only 0 (arrays etc. in java are 0-based) Why do you have 2 main methodes? Also I think Vector is not the right data structure for you - except if you need everything synchronized (otherwise use a List). – HectorLector Feb 1 '14 at 17:57

You simply have to read the stack trace. The exception is thrown at ScrollPaneRefresh.java:279:

TableColumn column = table.getColumnModel().getColumn(1);

You're thus trying to access the second column of your table. The model of this table is initialized using:

dm = new DefaultTableModel(data, columnNames);

and this is called by the initialization of ScrollPaneRefresh:

at policyreader.ScrollPaneRefresh.<init>(ScrollPaneRefresh.java:208)

The referenced line must be one of those two lines:

And either columnNames or columnNames56 contains 0 or 1 column, but not 2. So where are these variables initialized?

So everything is empty.

Quite frankly, your code is a mess. It uses public fields, static methods which should be instance methods, everything in a single file, JDBC code intermingled with Swing code. You'd better learn to assign a single responsibility to a single class, and learn the difference between static and instance methods, and respect the Java naming conventions, before continuing.
