I´m developing an OSGi Application that needs a Database. I choose to use H2 and Hibernate for my database.

How believe the EntityManager can´t find the persistence file with the name "test". I don´t believe, that the PersistenceProvider is not running. When running without OSGI but as a MavenProject I don't get this Error.

I tried this with, and without the specification which persistence provider to use.

I saw the other posts about it, but i could not see the mistake I did there.

This is the Code from the Activator. it just starts the main method, because I implemented it with a normal main method first.

so the activator starts this:

managed to get it working with the tip below. But in the end I decided to change the way the EntityManager was obtained. I implemented it this way

entityManagerFactory = persistenceProvider.createEntityManagerFactory( "test", null);
entityManagerFactory.createEntityManager();

So you are using the static Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory to create the EntityManagerFactory. While I read in the jpa provider spec for OSGi that this should work I never tried it this way and am not sure what you have to provide to make it work.

I am normally using Aries JPA as an implementation of the OSGi jpa provider spec. It helps by creating an EntityMangerFactory for your persistence unit and offering it as a service. See this example: http://www.liquid-reality.de/x/C4DK
