I'm trying to deploy an EC2 Instance which runs ecs-agent. Such EC2 Instance is granted some permissions by an Instance Profile associated with a specific Role.

When the ecs-agent runs and tries to register itself in the ECS Cluster, it fails:

I deploy it by running:

aws cloudformation create-stack --stack-name instanceprofiletest --templatebody instanceprofiletest.json --parameters ParameterKey=KeyName,ParameterName=[my-key]  ParameterKey=SubnetId,ParameterValue=[my-subnet] ParameterKey=VpcId,ParameterValue=[my-vpc] ParameterKey=AllowedSshCidr,ParameterValue=[my-ip]/32

The stack is deployed successfully, but ecs-agent container fails to start, and the /var/log/ecs/ecs-agent.log shows the NoCredentialProviders above.

Unfortunately, I cannot inspect the permissions granted to the instance profile. I can only get its name:

The problem was a typo.

The EcsInstanceRole's first statement says "ecs.amazonaws.com" instead of "ec2.amazonaws.com".
