Environment:

  • Primefaces 6.1
  • wildfly 10
  • java 8

The problem I get is the following error 

Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.poi.ss.usermodel.CellStyle.setAlignment(S)V

but the library exists and the method is accessible from bean. What can I do?

    Do you also have an old version of POI on your classpath by mistake? See poi.apache.org/faq.html#faq-N10006 for tips on checking

  • Great comments in FAQ but I think it must be another thing. The output give me the class > POI Core came from file:/home/user/.m2/repository/org/apache/poi/poi/3.17/poi-3.17.jar!/org/apache/poi/ss/usermodel/CellStyle.class

  • My ear has as well the version poi-3.17.jar in WEB-INF/lib ¿?

It looks like I was using the bad library. I worked by only change the dependency to poi-ooxml.

Dependency to export xls

<dependency>
    <groupId>org.apache.poi</groupId>
    <artifactId>poi-ooxml</artifactId>
    <version>3.15</version>
    <type>jar</type>
</dependency>

I had to update the poi library to version 3.17 and poi-ooxml to version 3.17 also
