So I need help with my code to acquire this

However my code right now is outputting this

I had to use information from a csv file, clean it up and now I have to organize it like such. My code that I have for this part is the following

I don't really get where the 27 is coming from, I am guessing its because some logic error that I am not really seeing. This is my attempt at the code and any input would be appreciated.

UPDATE: I have placed more of my code to help clarify. Still figuring out why it prints only 27 for the list. I can't use pandas for this project

    "Pretty much" but not exactly? Where does the constant in range(14) come from? Whyeare you making a set() of your data and does this discard something #rom the raw data? – tripleee Apr 15 at 5:03

Replace last line print(data_employer[k][0], data_employer[k][1])

with

print(list(data_employer.keys()).index(k), data_employer[k][0], data_employer[k][1])
  • That does print out the numbers, but the sums still don't add up right. Here is a simple solution using pandas

csv_file_out = 'return.csv'

df = pd.read_csv(csv_file_in, header=2) # Read in CSV header=2 makes the headers ALumni, PhD etc etc

headers = list(df.columns.values) # get a list of columns to count (headers as row 2)

temp_df = pd.DataFrame([]) # create temp df

for i in headers: #iterate through the columns
    try:
        new_df = pd.DataFrame({'Sum': df[i].count().sum()}, index=[i]) # new dataframe as holding (will be overwritten in the next iteration)
