I've got error assembly when publishing to production

so far I've tried to:

  1. clean bin and obj
  2. rebuild solution
  3. manually add Microsoft.VisualStudio.Diagnostics.PerformanceProvider library
  4. set application pool to enable 32 bit aplication
  5. Intall visual studio on production server

  • I think I have faced this kind of issue in the past. I fixed by uninstalling and installing visual studio again. If it it feasible could you try this – Prany Jun 7 '18 at 4:17

  • @AD8, no, Microsoft.VisualStudio.Diagnostics.PerformanceProvider not supposed to exist in binary folder, we aren't add it in reference. but it's automatically referenced when release the project. – Wildan Muhlis Jun 7 '18 at 4:27

Solution 1:

Uninstall and re-install Visual studio

Solution 2:

Just remove the reference to this assembly from web.config files in framework directories.

Solution 3:

Open Visual studio with admin rights

I encountered the same issue. I think it has something to do with dynamic assembly loading or DI (e.g. AutoMapper). In my case we ended up having a build machine (without VS installed) doing the build output and that worked.
