this is my first post, so I will try to be as detailed as possible and show the steps to reproduce those errors. I want to extend the given Fabcar example with additional peers but I am not able to query/invoke the extended system. If I try to query the System I get the following Error:

If I run the docker ps -a command it shows this:

As you can see, the devpeer is missing, this peer shows up if you build the original Fabcar example.

If I run the docker logs command for peer0 it shows this:

My Steps to reproduce this outcome:

Made changes in the basic-network folder:

  1. Crypto-config.yaml - changed the Template Count value to 2

  2. Docker-compose.yml - duplicated peer0 and couchdb and changed ports/names

  2. Extend the start.sh file to create the new peer in the whole system

  1. Run the start.sh file to bring the system up

    • Run docker logs ca.example to get the new ca.example private key and change the old one in the docker-compose.yml file

    • Run the start.sh file again, now you should be able to see the new peer in the docker environment

    • There is an error with the docker exec command for peer1:

  • Why is the genesis block for the second peer missing, is it possible that this peer could not access the block?

    1. Switch into the fabcar folder and run the startFabric.sh file

    2. Enroll the admin and register the user

    3. Try to query the new system and you will get the query-error shown above

Question: Is there something missing in those steps or why is it not possible to install the chaincode on the peers and run the network properly?

mychannel.block is created when you run this command:

    docker exec -e "CORE_PEER_LOCALMSPID=Org1MSP" -e "CORE_PEER_MSPCONFIGPATH=/etc/hyperledger/msp/users/[email protected]/msp" peer0.org1.example.com peer channel create -o orderer.example.com:7050 -c mychannel -f /etc/hyperledger/configtx/channel.tx

mychannel.block is created in peer0.org1.example.com docker container.

When you run this command, it runs from peer1.org1.example.com docker container, so this will not have mychannel.block file , so u have to fetch the file , then run 2nd peer join command.

fetch command is :

So add this fetch command before joining 2nd peer(peer1.org1.example.com)

Like this:
