I would like to implement the follow algorithm in Helm template:

That should produce QAtppodNjcm3KPEyHTO4ZBSOrsrzbC+zLUEVJ43wQkQ= dGVzdHNhbHQ= as the result. The same in Bash:

$ SALT="testsalt"
$ PASSW="testpassw"
$ encHash=`echo -n $SALT$PASSW | sha256sum | cut -d" " -f1 | xxd -r -p | sha256sum | cut -d" " -f1 | xxd -r -p | base64`
$ encSalt=`echo -n "testsalt" | base64`
$ printf "%s %s" $encHash $encSalt

The first naive approach to realize it in Helm:

{{- $salt := "testsalt" -}}
{{- $hasharg := printf "%s%s" $salt $passw -}}
{{- $encSalt := $salt | b64enc -}}
{{- $hash1 := $hasharg | sha256sum -}}
{{- $hash2 := $hash1 | sha256sum -}}
{{- $encHash2 := $hash2 | b64enc -}}
{{- printf "%s %s\n" $encHash2 $encSalt -}}

This template generates the wrong result because sha256sum returns a result as a string in the hexadecimal encoding and the second sha256sum consumes it, but interprets the argument as "clear" string. I was trying to use printf with formatting with no success.

Is it possible to resolve that issue by Helm to avoid creating a container for generating the hash?
