There is no way to directly change the legend marker size in plotly objects I have noticed after looking hard for a way to do it. I'm still trying to play around with this app, but it might take me ages to solve the wanted behaviour

In the end I found out a trick to do it with this code:

basically what this does is generate a string repeating the size n times, where n is the number of points in the trace we are looping over, and then add an equal number of repeats in a different size. This, because the legend markers of plotly are actually behaving as the average of the size of all markers. We just provide a double amount of markers, of which the second half is much larger or much smaller so that the average size goes up or down....

Now this turns out to create a strange effect of putting a dark border around the legend markers when using the color changing javascript from THIS question and THIS question.

What I would like to find out now is whether we can fix that border color, and adjust an other javascript I got from another question to be able to update both the legend marker size and the actual marker size without re-rendering the plot.

my app facts: there are 6 plots currently in it, all running on the same plot function. All legend size numericInputs and all marker size numericInputs have the plot name in their inputId "markersize_FP1plot" for instance

The app so far

it is more complex than the usual test app, but that's because I want to make sure there is no strange interaction with existing javascript attached to the plots

The first two unintended behaviours I have found are: - legend markers get a dark border due to the color changing javascript - changing marker or legend size turns all traces gray till color is clicked again.... A javascript solution for size setting might solve that as side effect
