I set up an weather application but when I click on button to get weather I getting this error?In this application I create thread for doing background proccesss. Here I'm trying to get self.textvalue and access in another function.

Error:

I don't know why I getting this error?

I've tried to change this but still I'm stuck with error:

  • where is self.text = ...? You don't have self.text so you can't use it as argument.

  • Now I see you have it in self.get_weather but it is executed after Thread(target=self.weather_icon, args=(self.text,)) so self.text is created too late. You would have to first run self.get_weather and wait till it create self.text

self.weather_icon needs self.text which is created in self.get_weather so self.get_weather has to run before self.weather_icon and self.weather_icon has to wait till self.get_weather ends its job - to make sure that self.text already exists.

It is better to put code from both functions in once function and run it in one thread.

    thread_weather_icon = Thread(target=self.weather_icon, args=(self.text,))
    thread_weather_icon.start()
