When I load and set font, app crashes and debugger shows me 0xc0000005 at line in MainMenu.cpp (exception is reported by sfml-graphics-d-2.dll):

window.draw(menu.at[i]);

This is line in for loop.

Btw. every time I close my app I have an error "Run-Time Check Failure #2 - Stack around the variable 'window' was corrupted." and debugger show end of main().

  • Not related, but if you want to properly handle the following comparison if(cursor - 1 >= 0) you should change type of cursor to be int, not unsigned one. Now, if cursor == 0, this condition is true. – rafix07 Jan 26 at 19:17

  • @LeTeeL yes, I have a window with white text on a red background (clang and gcc both report no warnings other than unhandled switch cases), FWIW I am using Calibri rather than Arial but I don't believe it should make much of a difference – Moira Jan 27 at 11:40
  • @Moira weird... I have this problem ony if I declare array of sf::Text or only sf::Text in header file, in other case it is okey - the same with some sf::RectangleShape, to use them I need declare them in method, not in header file as a field – LeTeeL Jan 27 at 12:14

In MainMenu::MoveUp() you write: if (cursor - 1 >= 0) ...

First of all, this condition is always true: cursor is an unsigned int, so it has no other options but to be >= 0.

Secondly, in the case when cursor is 0, your cursor - 1 yields the maximum value of unsigned int (as it wraps on overflow). As a result, menu[cursor].setFillColor... causes undefined behaviour because you give your std::array<sf::Text, 3> menu an invalid index.

Try fixing this and check if the error shows up again.
