I added "service": "serviceClass" for generate filtering code in entity.json.

related codes created successfully and I can use filtering with fields.

Also, I added some fields in examScoreDTO.java which are mapped in examScoreMapper.java.

How can I use my mapped fields as well as my entity in the criteria object?

For Instance, ExamScore has a relation with the exam entity. I mapped the "date" field from the exam into examScoreDTO. Now, filtering is not working for the "date" field that is mapped from the exam entity

  • Not sure what you mean. The JPA static metamodel generator only introspects the Entity not the DTO so all fields you added to the Entity are taken into account docs.jboss.org/hibernate/orm/5.0/topical/html/metamodelgen/… – Gaël Marziou Oct 3 at 14:44
  • Thank you for your response. It works with the entity very well. But I have some fields which I mapped in the mapper added to dto. The filtering is not working on those fields. I think the mapper is provided to query from relations. – Hossein Jafari Oct 4 at 7:03
  • You mean you want to filter on a field from a related entity? Your question is still not clear, consider showing some code. From what I understand you might be willing to do too much from generator and due to this your DTOs could be too similar to your entities without any real benefit. Have you considered writing your code manually to replace DTO mapping using MapStruct by JPA/Hibernate projections? And also writing manually your criteria? – Gaël Marziou Oct 4 at 9:21

    While dropping mapstruct, you can still benefit from the generated classes under target but consider as a starting point that you will evolve manually – Gaël Marziou Oct 4 at 11:35
