Our team is using the confluent DB2 connector. The source points to an on-prem system using New York (Eastern Time). There is a GAME_TIME field of type TIME in DB2. Whenever this TIME > '19:00:00', our defined source fails with

I understand why, from the source code in kafka, it fails. It's this line in Kafka.

       if (unixMillis < 0 || unixMillis > MILLIS_PER_DAY) {
            throw new DataException("Kafka Connect Time type should not have any date fields set to non-zero values.");
        }

My question is, can I work around this without changing kafka itself or horribly mangling my data out of Eastern Time?
